		BD-CMM Quick Start™ The BD-CMM Quick Start™ packages a one-day training program and a baseline appraisal. This allows you to build knowledge of the BD-CMM and BD best practices and receive an assessment of your organizationÕs BD capability in a single project. The training creates a shared vision of BD excellence among your leadership, and the latter results in a set of findings and recommendations through which to understand current "gaps", set appropriate maturity targets, and begin defining your organization's BD-CMM implementation plan. Overview The standard BD-CMM Quick Start™ includes several elements, each of which can be tailored to an organization's specific situation. The training component is based on BD-Institute's "Orientation to BD-CMM Concepts and Implementation" workshop. The standard appraisal component is a Baseline Appraisal (Class B), but the specific approach can be tailored to either cost constraints or desired outcomes. In addition, the appraisal can be de-scoped to a "Quick Look" Appraisal (Class C), based on the goals of the project and the organization's Business Development environment. The flexibility of the approach makes it feasible to focus on a single operating unit or multiple operating units in a division, sector, or corporation, depending on the overall goals of the project. Who Should Use This Service Corporations, sectors, or operating units that want to build an understanding of the BD-CMM and define a maturity baseline Duration Varies from one week to two months, based on class and scope of the appraisal approach. Cost Base price for the standard BD-CMM Quick Start™ is $30,000. Prices for a de-scoped BD-CMM Quick Start™ using a shorter training program and a Quick Look (Class C) Appraisal costs significantly less, and using this package for a corporation or a sector of a corporation with multiple operating units can cost more. Deliverables Deliverables vary based on the class of appraisal but typically address relative maturity; strengths, weaknesses, and gaps; and opportunities for improvement.
